Economics

Quarter 4 brings the start of our economics unit in social studies!  We kicked it off today by learning the difference between natural, human, and capital resources.  We wrote about them in our journals and then found examples of them in magazines.  The kids are great at distinguishing between them!

Definitions

Natural Resource: materials that are found in nature and that can be used by people in many ways. Fresh water, soil, coal, and forests are all examples of natural resources.

Capital Resource: goods produced and used to make other goods and services. Basic categories of capital resources include tools, equipment, buildings, and machinery. 

Human Resource: the people who work for a business.
